Compact Dry BC
Description:
Compact Dry is a simple and safe procedure for determining and quantifying microorganisms in foodstuffs, cosmetics and other raw materials, including pharmaceuticals. The ready-to-use Compact Dry BC chromogenic plates are suitable for both in-process and final product controls.
It is a ready-to-use chromogenic plate for total count of Bacillus cereus, contains x-phos as a chromogenic chromogenic agent. The incubation time is 24 hours. if necessary, the plate can be incubated for an additional incubated 24 hours more, in order to better observe the colonies to better observe the colonies obtained.
Specifications:
Matrix: | Raw materials, finished products, environmental samples from the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries, among others. |
Temperature and incubation time: | Incubate at 30 – 35° C ± 1° C for 24 ± 2 hours |
Presentation: | Packs of 4 units |
Mode of use:
- Remove the cover.
- Deposit 1 ml of the sample in the center of the surface of the Compact Dry plate.
- The sample is automatically and homogeneously dispersed on the film and transforms the dry film into a gel in a few seconds.
- Replace the cover on the plate. Incubate for the prescribed time.

Interpretation of results:
Bacillus cereus forms blue/pale blue colonies due to the chromogens contained in the medium. Although some bacteria other than B. cereus can also grow and form white colonies on this plate, only blue/pale blue colonies should be counted. Other related species of the Bacillus group, e.g. Bacillus thuringiensis, Bacillus weihenstephanensis, Bacillus mycoides, can also grow and form blue/pale blue colonies.
Storage and shelf life:
Keep at room temperature, from 1 to 30 °C. Shelf life 18 months.
